What different kinds of hair extensions and methods are out there?
Posted by admin under How to Hair ExtensionsI have a medium hair length and wavy texture, and bangs. I want hair extensions but don’t know where to start? What are the different methods and styles that I could try?
What are the most common and what do celebrities usually do?
Thanks! I would like to know what ARE the options. And I’m also not asking for your opinion on Hair Extensions.

There are so many options these days, you will have to ask your stylist for the best. I have heard a lot of girls love Jessica Simpson’s line ‘HairDo’ her clip in extensions are great and the hair pieces are awesome and look real and not very expensive. They have wavy styles. Clip in is the best as it won’t damage hair. My friend had some clip in’s the other night as highlights in her hair and it looked so real!

Honestly, the most important step is going to be a personal consultation from a professional you either know or have been referred to and trust. Let them look at your hair, the texture and its health and they’ll know what method to offer you without damaging your hair.
From what I’ve read, most of the celebs are going the quick and easy route of clips. If you go to a really good wig shop, they can customize the number of clips you want to match the color, texture and placement of where you want the hair. It’s as easy as putting in decorative hair combs but you’ll have an awesome new hairstyle every day if you wanted to.
Also, you can find someone who can cornrow really well. Have it done while your hair is wet and then add a strong spritz spray. Hair wefts can then be sewn on and should last a good while if done by a pro. Never believe that extensions or weaves are for black hair only.
For the truly brave at heart, there’s bonding which is done by what amounts to a hot glue gun used to bond small pieces of human hair to the ends of your own hair that will add fullness, length, texture, color. It depends on which one(s) you’d like.
I also like to make my own customized weaves (or wigs) by fitting a stocking cap to a persons own head. Under that would go a plastic cap to prevent glue from touching their own hair. Using hair chosen by them, I bond (or glue) the hair in the style that they choose. With that one, you can either take it on and off as easy as any other cap and add a few pins for security. Also, they’re, really inexpensive so a collection for work, play, evenings out isn’t out of the question.
